I've had the Clock Radio saved on my work computer for about 2 months now. Yesterday, just for fun, I went back to TMBG.com and downloaded it again. When I opened the newly downloaded player, it began playing different songs that I had never heard on the Clock Radio. Has anybody else run in to this? Does anybody have an explaination or know a little bit about how the Clock Radio works?

You are hearing different songs, they might be some newer updates. or maybee just some random song that didn't make it through the rotation on your computer. When you download the app, it's just a small program that downloads the music from the tmbg.com server, the AM and FM channels pull the songs in a random order, the EBS is the only one that seems to have any specfic order to the songs.

I reloaded the app to test your thoery, and got the same songs as B4. I think the Clock Radio is really cool, I just think they need to update it more often, maybee put some "spine" songs in there.

Each time you start the TMBG clock radio, it downloads a songlist from tmbg.com.  This XML file contains the playlist for AM, FM, and EBS.  I've seen that previous songs from EBS are sometimes moved to the AM list.  Just as you said, The Unknowable, AM and FM are random and EBS is in a set order.

If your internet connection at work uses a proxy server, it may use a cached playlist rather than get the updated one.  Either that, or you downloaded the player just at the time they released an updated playlist.

No proxy server at work.  Thanks for the info though.  I'm just glad to have some newer songs.  Heh.

There's a brand new song  called "Bloodmobile" on clock radio as of a couple days ago.  It's also  available for download at TMBG.com
